I wanted to let you know about a new feature article that I just published. It's called The Chemicals in Us: And What To Do About It. The full feature article details my experience participating in a body burden study done in my home state of Vermont. Study authors selected 10 Vermonters from a variety of ages and professions and took samples of hair, blood and urine to test for several different types of chemicals, including BPA, mercury, Deca (flame retardant), and a range of pesticides.
You'll find out the process I went through, my predictions (wrong-o!) and my results. The most important section, I think, is how to reduce your family's exposures to the chemicals I was tested for. In addition, you'll see where to go for more information and how to get active about supporting better protections against toxins and chemicals in our everyday products, food, and water.
It's free for newsletter subscribers. If you have never noticed (as a busy parent, I know you barely have time to brush your teeth--), there are two ways to subscribe to Non-Toxic Kids.
There's the weekly post roundup email, available from Feedblitz. It's labeled as such and you will receive all the posts on one email on Fridays. I heard some feedback that emails with every post were too much, so I went to the email roundup once a week. Of course, for the most current posts, just visit us everyday (in between brushing teeth, cooking, working, playing, etc. etc).
For the free ebook/article, subscribe to our monthly newsletter. You can do this two ways. One by clicking on the picture in the right sidebar of me getting 10 vials (yes, 10) of blood taken as part of the study. There you can enter your email address. You'll then get an email with a link that tells you how to download the article. Monthly newsletter receive additional content (like this article/ebook!), updates about new releases, and sometimes, information about eco-friendly products and resources. The other way is to click the "Free Monthly Newsletter here" button on your right. You'll get the same welcome email with a link to where to find the article.
Thanks for signing up and I hope you find the article helpful! Please let me know your thoughts, I'd love to hear what you think of the article/ebook.
