Citizenpip: Green Lunch Kits (giveaway and coupon code!)

I happily received this Soup to Nuts waste free lunch kit from Citizenpip. I've quickly adopted it to be my lunch kit, and it has worked very well. I feel especially green and snazzy when I remember to add one of the cloth napkins with the kit so I am completely waste free.

But let me back up.

This is a mom powered business with kits that are better and different because-

"Everything in one kit: It comes with everything you need to pack a reusable lunch - an insulated lunch bag, water bottle, insulated food jar, BPA-free food containers, fork+spoon, and napkins.

Flexible: It has the convenience of coordinated items with the flexibility to work with other types of containers.

Muck-free: All products have been tested by a CPSIA accredited lab to be lead-free, phthalate-free and BPA-free."

(I like that last one very much!)

While the products are made in China, I know they do test everything and take safety very seriously. There are ample BPA free containers for all of your veggies, pretzels, or whatever you want to send with your child or take yourself. The sandwich one is the perfect size. I got a little nervous about the case which keeps food nice and cool, because it seemed a bit like vinyl. But no! Christine assured me it wasn't. Here's what she said:

"The lunch bag is made out of laminated non-woven polypropylene. (Many of the reusable shopping bags at the grocery stores are made out of this material.) The inside liner is aluminum, and the trim is polypropylene as well. The lunch bag has been tested by a CPSIA accredited lab to be lead-free and phthalate-free. It is PVC-free (NO VINYL)."

Fabulous.

And in the Soup to Nuts kit, there is a handy sized thermos for soup (or food jar), made of stainless steel. When you get this kit, you can bring a sandwich or soup and add some variety in your waste free green eating lunch line up.

The only problem I see with these kits is not with Citizenpip. My kit has been pilfered by other people (ie. my husband) and now the parts are spread out throughout the kitchen. So take my advice. Keep it hidden, or under lock and key. With all parts present and accounted for so it is ready when you are. So you won't have to spend your morning going through every blasted drawer looking for the parts.

I guess that is a testament to the usability of the parts. They are all in constant use in our house!

So, let's review:

*Citizenpip is a mom owned, safety conscious and green company
*All parts are PVC, BPA, Phthalate and Lead Free (tested)
*The Soup to Nuts kit gets you:

• 1 insulated lunch bag with nametag and carabiner that easily attaches to a
backpack
• 1 stainless steel water bottle
• 1 stainless steel insulated food jar
• 4 BPA-free airtight food containers
• 1 stainless steel fork + spoon set
• 5 100% cotton napkins (one for each day of the week)

And there is a special fundraising (and greening of lunches) opportunity for schools.

Thanks, Citizenpip for providing parents with a way to take and send waste free lunches to work and school, saving countless plastic bags and packaging from the landfill.

Now the fun part. Enter this code at checkout to get 10 percent off: ntk10

Would just use it for my son's lunches :) He packs 90% of the school days so I try hard to make them waste free lunches. Designs are so cute, would be hard to pick which!

I think I am in love with those lunch kits. I've been trying to slowly replace our old plastic containers with stainless steel and BPA-free stuff, but with three kids and three adults here it sometimes seems a little overwhelming.

Right now we've all got stainless steel water bottles and there are two stainless steel food containers kicking around for lunches.

I have a feeling that Christmas will find a selection of these products under our tree.

LOVE it! What a great idea and the fact that it all coordinates is so nice. My 14 month old and I are constantly out and about...whether walking in the city parks, visiting the zoo or Children's Museum, or hiking the Colorado Rockies, having a kit like this to stop and have a picnic would be awesome. No being tied down to her high chair for us! Safe. Clean. Tested. Practical. Well done Citizenpip!

Oh, this is so fantastic! I have been trying to figure out my kids' lunch boxes and all of the waste and 'muck'.

I would use one kit for one of my boys and buy another for my other kid. I could then stop using all of those plastic baggies. I know my kids would feel like they are contributing to being more green and I would love that they are using items that are safe and non-toxic.

Thanks for the opportunity!

I would use my new lunch kit to bring meals in to the hospital with me when I take my daughter in for her biweekly tests.

I would use this for my daughter's lunch at school! She would love it! No vinyl is a plus for being up in the arctic, vinyl usually shatters once it gets really cold!

This would be a perfect lunch box for when my daughter and I are "on the go". Just love the words on the outside of the lunch boxes :-)

My 3.5 year old would love to take her lunch in this to her Montessori. She LOVES green and would be so happy to have a "cool" lunch system.

I found your site because she went to the dentist today and had a *few* cavities. I nearly cried. I searched for BPA & sealants - thanks for the information.

Oh, Christie Ann do I have empathy for you! We were shocked too. It doesn't mean you did something wrong! Thanks for visiting and I hope you come back soon :).

I would love to use this for my son's lunchbox! Right now we're using a more mainstream character based one that I'm not sure of - no recalls, but you know how it is. And we're using a collection of random containers, none of which (I found out the hard way) are leak proof!! So to send things like applesauce or yogurt to school, I have to buy individual size ones, which I hate doing.

Island Veggie, please send me your email. I'd like to send this to you, but I don't have your email address.

Thanks!
