New from The Environmental Working Group: Kid Safe Blog

The hardworking and fantastic environmental health advocates at the Environmental Working Group have launched a new blog to share information, increase awareness and organize us busy green parents to help protect our children from toxic chemicals in our environment. According to EWG, the new Kid Safe blog is:

"The best place to find:

*Opportunities to advocate for toxics policy reform,
*Timely updates about the bill's status in Congress,
*Thought-provoking commentary from policy experts, decision-makers, and the media."

Right on. We need a place we can check on the Kid Safe Chemical act's progress, and the progress being made on critical issues such as the BPA lobbyist drama and other ongoing chemical issues.

They've got some really great articles on the site right now. Like this one, which is a follow up post to the BPA lobbyist meeting, on why Coca-Cola has not responded to the outcry from the public. And this update on the BPA saga, which won't rightfully be solved until massive systemic change happens in the testing and regulation of chemicals in our everyday products. There's also this history of the Teflon chemical, PFOA, which is a concise article about what we know, and what the problem is.

Thanks, Environmental Working Group for this new way to discuss, learn, organize and act. We are in this together, and concerned parents everywhere appreciate the work that you do!
