Green Parenting (and Living) Tips and Links-

I just got an email about a new green search engine called Truevert. It's essentially a set of feeds and a search engine for green topics. If you want to read what is happening in the land of environmental blogs and news, this is a good way to cruise the feeds.

For tips about how to lessen the energy consumption of household appliances, where and how to recycle them, and reuse ideas, check out the Parts Select Blog.

If you are raising teens right now (god help you), you may have seen the common sense news story that teens who watch too much sexual activity on TV have higher pregnancy rates. Jim at Parent Consensus breaks it down for us.

And the lovely women of Cool Mom Picks have done it again. They've assembled a great Safer Toy Guide of handmade and natural items for this holiday season.

I completely missed this story. Apparently Carter's tagless tags are causing some nasty rashes in babies. And several blogs are reporting that the tags themselves "might" contain phthalates. In the tags?? We have lots of these that were given as gifts. I looked long and hard at my daughter's sleeper tonight. Here I am trying to limit her exposure to chemicals, and she is sleeping right on a tag filled with them.

Here's a rundown of the issue from Z Recs.
