I've never been much of a cleaner. Ask my mom, my husband, and definitely my college roommates. I only clean when I fall over things on the floor (often), or when the bathroom is gross, or when anyone is visiting.
So when I got my package of products to sample from Simply Neutral, I put off testing them. Not because they weren't inviting, and wonderful looking.
I just didn't want to clean.
So a mere 4 months later I did clean. You should first know that Simply Neutral is company founded by a mama who had a home cleaning business. See, she actually loved cleaning! But she soon started to develop a rash around one finger and started to have other more serious problems related to the chemicals in the cleaners she used regularly. Then this mama's new baby started developing allergies, she knew she had to do something. She started using green products, but didn't find any that worked as well as she wanted.
And Simply Neutral was born.
Right away I was impressed that the bottles are made with 100 percent post consumer plastic. All of their products have a neutral pH, contain no perfumes or dyes, and contain non-toxic plant based ingredients.
The first thing I tried was the all purpose cleaner. And I put it to the test in the germiest place ever: my classroom. At the end of the day my students spray each desk and wipe it down. There is no strong odor, no health consequences of using it, and we are healthier for it. It works for many purposes (ah, hence the name), spraying counter tops, bathroom sinks, etc.
If you have some nasty grease, stains or soap scum, the non-abrasive cleanser is the way to go. It doesn't scratch surfaces, and makes even my grungy kitchen sink shiny. You've just got to mix it with the all purpose spray and make a paste to scrub any surface clean.
And then they created these nifty biodegradable wipes that come in a pill size and shape. All you do is add a tiny bit of water and you have an eco-friendly wipe to use anywhere (in the car, after your toddler handles a turkey feather, for instance--that is how I used one today). They are seriously convenient.
Now, maybe I will clean a bit more. Or not. In any case, thanks Simply Neutral for making a great line of non-toxic cleaning products.

I love the H2O mop. Easy and uses hot hot hot steam to kill everything. You don't need any cleaning solutions. I should work for the Thane company that makes this product since I'm constantly telling of my love affair with this mop!

Thanks for the heads up
always love to hear about non-toxic cleaners! we need lots of options!
I've recently been introduced to an eco-friendly company that has a line of environmentally safe cleaners for the laundry, bathroom, dishcare etc. that contact no phosphates, chlorine bleach, ammonia, formaldehyde. They are ph blanced and are concentrated to save money. I'm very impressed with the company-Melaleuca. I've never heard of them before 4 months ago, when I became a member. I'm very happy with their products and I'm converting my home over to be more non-toxic. I have children and pets and have always felt that the cleaners I was using were not good for them. If you would like more information you can go to their website or contact me at margaretfallon@yahoo.com
Thank you for such a great site.
