Mythic Paint Rocks (No VOCs or Odors for Your Babies)-

If you've been reading this blog long you know we are still (yes, still) in the midst of renovating our house. We moved back in and are now painting the entire inside ourselves.

I insisted that we use no VOC paints, especially since we are living here, and I want the air quality to be the best it can be. We live in Vermont, and are inside with woodstove heat about half of the year. We just insulated so the house is much tighter. This is great for the environment and for our heating bills, but maybe not so much for the indoor air quality.

Mythic paint is twice as expensive as even the low VOC paints. But it is absolutely worth it.

No odor. The baby can sleep in the room that night. It dries quickly and looks great. Financially painful, yes, but worth it in peace of mind and beauty.

What are VOCs? Visit this link from Enviroblog to learn more. After you do, you'll see why they shouldn't be near children if at all possible.

Do you want other options for low and no VOC paints and finishes? Visit this post from Eco-Child's Play about options from AFM Safecoat.

I love hearing all these options. We are just getting ready to paint my child's room! Thanks for the tip!
