New Born Free BPA, Phthalate and PVC Free Pacifiers (Safe and Toxin Free for Babies)!

Wonderful news today from the makers of BPA free sippy cups and bottles, Born Free. Seems they've made a safe BPA, Phthalate and PVC free pacifier for babies and toddlers.

Hooray!

As the mother of a one year old who lovingly calls her pacifier "sucks" (I know, it just stuck-- what can you do?) and adores it greatly, I have been trying to buy only the ones that are BPA free. But this is hard to keep up with.

Now I don't have to worry about what brands and models are free of toxins. I can just buy these and know they are safe. Simple.

I've always been concerned about environmental toxins so it just seemed ridiculous to let my baby sleep with a big plastic hunk in her mouth. I was calmed a bit by the fact that the part she sucks on is made from silicone, but as for the plastic, it just makes me nervous.

BPA (bisphenol A), PVC, and Pthalates are all chemicals that can be in conventional plastics and have been linked to serious health concerns. Visit the categories for BPA, PVC and Phthalates on this blog to learn more about these toxins.

So I am happy I can move on the pacifiers I have (they are too old anyway, and a bit gross) and replace them with these.

The Born Free Pacifiers were also designed with thoughtful features for baby. According to Born Free, "unique product features include the orthodontic collapsible nipple, which was designed to prevent future dental issues and the pacifier's breathable shield helps reduce skin irritation by limiting moisture on baby's skin and increasing air flow. In addition, the soft-contoured shield allows the pacifier to rest comfortably on baby's mouth."

The pacifiers are available in sizes for 0-6 month olds, and 6 months plus. They are available for purchase at Born Free's website and many retailers nationwide.
